Ball Packaging invests EUR 35mn for new production line in Serbian plant.

German-based Ball Packaging Europe, part of U.S. Ball Corporation, launched a new EUR 35mn production line for cans at its plant in Belgrade, Beta news agency reported. This will be the plant's second production line, with which the company plans double output to 1.5bn cans. The plant will hire 40 workers as a result of the expanded capacity. The production of the new line will be earmarked for exports to the region and the EU. The Serbian unit of Ball Packaging Europe was opened in 2005 and currently has a staff of 190.
