Azerbaijans SOCAR shows interest in Albanian energy sector.

Azerbaijan's state oil company, SOCAR, has expressed its interest to develop energy projects in Albania, the Albanian PMs press office informed. The company will soon send its representatives to assets the business potential in Albania. We note that, SOCAR is a shareholder in Azerbaijans largest natural gas field Shah Deniz II. Azeri natural gas is expected to be transferred through Albanian territory in the coming years through a 520-km Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP). In Albania, the pipeline will stretch some 200km onshore and 60 km offshore, crossing the countrys territory from the border with Greece in the Korca region to Fier, in the northwest.
