Average net wage in Macedonia down 1.9% y/y in February 2012.

The average monthly net wage dropped by 1.9% y/y in real terms to MKD 20,625 (EUR 335) in February, after decreasing by 3.5% y/y in January, according to data of the statistics office. The annual growth has been negative for 13 months in a row. In nominal terms, the average net wage rose by 0.9% y/y in February, reversing a 0.2% y/y drop in the previous month. The narrower annual real drop in February was also supported by a deceleration of inflation. The average net wage has decreased by a real 2.7% y/y to MKD 20,803 in Jan-Feb. The average monthly gross wage dropped by a real 2.1% y/y to MKD 30,257 in February.
