Auto components supplier Getrag Ford to double production in Slovakia in 2011.

German auto components producer Getrag Ford Transmissions plans to double gearbox production at its Kechnec plant, in eastern Slovakia in 2011, to meet rising demand from clients hnonline.sk reported. The company aims to produce 230,000 gearboxes this year, up from 122,000 in 2010. Its main clients are Ford, Volvo and Mitsubishi. Getrag will also increase the number of employees from the current 850. The German company operates in Slovakia through its local unit Getrag Ford Transmissions Slovakia. The Kechnec plant is the only motorcycle transmission production site of the group.
