Albanias unemployment rate stood at 13.3% in Q4 of 2012, unchanged from the previous quarter and the year before, the statistics office said in a statement. The number of unemployed Albanians declined by 0.8% y/y and dropped only marginally q/q to 141,755 in October to December 2012. The countrys labour force decreased by 0.6% y/y but increased by 0.5 q/q to 1.069mn in Q4. Private companies, operating in the non-agriculture sector, increased their staff by 2% q/q. On the other hand, employment in the public sector edged down 0.2% y/y to 164,000 in Q4 2012. The average monthly wage in the public sector rose 7.3% y/y to ALL 51,500 (EUR 368.9). It picked up 0.4% on the quarter.
