Albanias producer prices grow by 3.3% in Q2 2011.

Albanias producer prices grew by 3.3% y/y in the second quarter of 2011, speeding up from 3.1% in the previous three months, the state statistics institute INSTAT informed. The manufacturing sector, which has the greatest weight in the producer price index (57.4%), was the main growth driver. Manufacturing prices increased by 4.4% y/y, pushed up by coke and refined petroleum products that grew by 10.6% and food products that advanced 11.5% y/y. Producer prices in the mining sector rose by 4.2% y/y on the back of a 6% y/y increase in the extraction costs of crude petroleum and natural gas. Prices of electricity edged up 0.2%. Producer price inflation is in line with the acceleration of consumer prices growth in the second quarter of the year, which averaged 4.1% y/y.
