Albanias 2009 GDP per capita at 27.6% of EU average statistics office.

Albanias gross domestic product (GDP) per capita accounted for 27.6% of the average for the European Union in 2009, Albanian statistics office INSTAT said in the first edition of its the regional economic accounts. INSTAT published the report in accordance with the countrys commitment under the Association and Stabilization Agreement signed with the union. The GDP per capita in Tirana stood at ALL 544,931 (EUR 4,126) in 2009, or 51.2% above the national level and accounted for 41.8% of the EU27 average. Tirana produced about 37.9% of the countrys GDP in 2009, as 25% of Albanias 3,194,417 population lived in the city. Durres followed with GDP per capita at 26% of the European average. Kukes ranked third with 25.7%, ahead of Vlore with 25.3%.
