Albanian government pledges support to raise employment.

The Albanian government will raise its support and assistance to the private sector in order to help boost employment and economic activity in the country, ATA news agency reported, quoting PM Sali Berisha as saying. He was speaking during a regular cabinet meeting on July 11. Berisha urged all cabinet members to review the agenda of their ministries giving priority to new jobs creation. According to the latest data of the statistics office, employment remained unchanged q/q in Q1 2012 with total number of employed reaching 933,293. Employment in the non-agricultural private sector rose by 0.5% y/y, while employment in the public sector dropped by the same margin.
