Albanian Development Fund to invest EUR 29mn in road, water infrastructure.

The Steering Board of the Albanian Development Fund has approved on Friday (Jan 15) the 2010 budget of the institution in the amount of ALL 3.9bn (EUR 29mn). About EUR 19mn of the total will be used to finance the reconstruction of 340 km of the rural road network, state minister Genc Pollo explained. The state body will finance also the implementation of 28 water management projects in 50 villages in Shkodra, Kukes and Diber regions. Moreover, the social and economic development of these areas will also be targeted, with special emphasis on tourism in 20 municipalities and communes. The successful implementation of the programs depends on the good collaboration of the fund with the local authorities, minister Pollo said.
