Albanian bank assets rise 4.6% y/y at end-October 2013.

Albanian commercial banks' assets increased by 4.6% y/y to ALL 1.3tn (EUR 9.26bn) as of end-October 2013, according to central bank data. The annual growth rate eased down from 5.2% in September and was slower than the 8.9% y/y rise a year ago.

According to IntelliNews calculations, the end-October assets equalled to 90.8% of the projected full-year GDP, down by 1.5pps on the year.

Government securities comprised 29.7% of the total assets.

In monthly terms, the value of bank assets decreased by 0.6% in October, reversing from a 0.5% m/m rise in the previous month.
