Albania to benefit from USD 125mn fund of IFC, Swedish government.

The country will be eligible to receive financial support from a newly established USD 125mn fund, created by IFC and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), according to IFC press release. The two organisations signed on Friday an agreement, which aims at supporting the trade in emerging economies of Central and Eastern Europe , affected by the negative consequences of the global financial crisis. This is the first facility within phase two of the IFC-led Global Trade Liquidity Program. Under this initiative more than USD 900mn funds have been disbursed in the past six months to support USD 2.2bn in trade transactions in emerging markets, the World Banks investment unit informed.
