Albania slips to 102nd place in global press freedom ranking.

Albania ranked 102nd out of 179 countries in the 2013 press freedom ranking published by Reporters Without Borders. The country ranked 96th in the previous edition of the survey. The score of 30.88 points obtained this year places the country next to Lebanon and the Maldives in terms of the degree of press and news journalists freedom. Albania was outperformed by most of the courtiers from the region Serbia (63th), Croatia (64th), Bosnia and Herzegovina (68th) and Kosovo (85th), while Montenegro (113th) and Macedonia (116th) lagged behind. The European Commission has repeatedly said that there has been only limited progress on improvement of Albanias legal framework on the media.
