Albania-Italy trade volume up 22% in Nov 2011.

The volume of trade exchange between Albania and its main trading partner Italy rose by 22% y/y to ALL 24.1bn (EUR 174.3mn) in November 2011, according to data from the state statistics office. The trade exchange with Italy accounted for 37.6% of Albanias foreign trade for the month, up by 0.8pps m/m. Albanias imports from Italy increased by 15.5% y/y to ALL 14.1bn, representing 30% of the countrys total imports. Exports surged 32.6% y/y to ALL 9.98bn, comprising 59.3% of the total exports. In cumulative terms, Albania-Italy trade exchange expanded 25.1% y/y to ALL 242.3bn in January to November 2011.
