Albania-Italy's trade exchange volume up by 30% y/y in June 2011.

The trade exchange volume between Albania and its main trading partner Italy increased by 29.9% y/y to ALL 22.9bn (EUR 178.4mn) in June 2011, data from the state statistics office INSTAT showed. The trade exchange with Italy accounted for 39.4% of Albanias foreign trade for the month. Albanias imports from Italy grew by 35% y/y to ALL 15.6bn, representing 33.4% of the countrys total imports. Exports picked up by 22.1% y/y to ALL 9.3bn, comprising 56.2% of the total exports. In cumulative terms, Albania-Italy trade volume expanded 26.6% y/y to ALL 126.5bn in H1 2011, accounting for more than a third of countrys foreign trade in the period.
